How To Create Animations From a Single Image Using AI

  1. Generate an Image: Begin by using an AI image generation tool like Midjourney to create an image.

  2. Save the Image: Once you're satisfied with the generated image, save it to your computer. This image will serve as the starting point for creating the animation.

  3. Log in or Sign Up to Runway ML: If you already have an account with Run ML, log in using your credentials. If not, you'll need to sign up for an account on the Run ML website to access their tools and features.

  4. Choose "Gen 2 Text to Image": Inside the tool, select the "Gen 2 Text to Image" option from the available tools. Although it says "Text to Image," you can upload images as well, and the AI will convert them into animations.

  5. Upload the Image: Click on the "Add Image" button in the Run ML interface, and select the image you previously generated using Make Journey. The AI will process the image and use it as the basis for creating the animation.

  6. Generate the Animation: After uploading the image, click the "Generate" button to create an animation from the single image. The AI will analyze the image and apply motion and effects to generate a short animation clip.

  7. Preview the Animation: Once the AI has finished processing, you can preview the animation by using the playback option. This allows you to see how the AI has transformed the static image into a moving animation.

  8. Explore Different Options: Experiment with various images and animations to explore the capabilities of the AI. You can try different images and prompts to create a wide range of animations, each with its unique style and motion.

  9. Download the Animation: If you're satisfied with the animation, you can download it to your computer. Right-click on the animation and select "Save video as" to save the animation file.
